В 2022 году ударник Megadeth Дирк Вербёрен и музыкант-активист Сильвен Демеркастель основали некоммерческую организацию SAVAGE LANDS (501(c)). С тех пор их усилия спасли уже 100 000 кв. футов лесов, а все доходы от дебютного альбома «Army of the Trees» направляются на посадку деревьев, создание заповедников и «зелёных зон». В партнёрстве с Институтом Джейн Гудолл и лидерами метал-сцены проект доказывает: тяжёлая музыка может менять мир.
Альбом «Army of the Trees» объединяет звёзд метала в экосистеме бескомпромиссного звука. В треке «The Last Howl» вокал Джона Тарди (Obituary) сплетается с виртуозными соло Андреаса Киссера (Sepultura). Кай Уве Фауст (Heilung) наполняет «Black Rock Heart» мистическим духом блэк-н-ролла, а Мария Франц (Heilung) парит над меланхоличной балладой «No Remedy» своим эфирным вокалом. Евровиденческие фавориты Lord of the Lost добавляют кровавый глэм в «Out of Breath», а Алисса Уайт-Глуз (Arch Enemy) царит в «Ruling Queen», переходя от чистого вокала к львиному рёву. Титульный трек, записанный при участии Жюльена Трушана (Benighted) и французских метал-титанов, звучит как боевой клич: «Пора занять свою позицию!»
